Best Wishes For The New Year!

Best wishes for the New Year!

The winter holidays are here and we know you are ready to relax after so much hard work during the fall. But before you go, check out the latest edition of the PTO Eagle Eye Newsletter for the latest updates.

Catch up on plans for the next PTO Half Day Enrichment with a live performance by actress Sheryl Faye, who will be portraying the life and accomplishments of American activist Helen Keller. Use password “MVRCS” to get your Eventbrite tickets reserved for Wednesday, January 8 from 12pm-2pm. All ages and grades welcome, but 6th grade students are encouraged to attend as a unit on Helen Keller will be coming up later in the year. Spots available now!

And, if you haven’t done so, please consider a donation to the PTO Annual Appeal. Letters describing the annual fund drive have gone out to backpacks across grades K-8, with invitations to High School families to connect with us electronically through the links on our Support page. Your financial contribution will power the programs that the Leadership and Parent Volunteers can design and deliver for our school community. Events like the Half Day programs, Senior Scholarships, Staff Appreciation Treats, Parent Speaker Series, and more are funded exclusively through family and business sponsors. A gift of $40 will have an immediate and positive impact on our students, families, and staff. Give today…and thank you for donating!

Finally, we are looking ahead to 2020 and are thinking about an upcoming parent social (the Dance Across the Decades…stay tuned for more!), expanded after school programs (TBA), and our new effort to pull together a list of regional summer programs for 2020. If you come across an interesting announcement, or you have sent your students to a summer offering that you would recommend to others, please forward to the PTO Outreach email with program name, links, and any relevant information for a new website guide to summer programs. We are envisioning a guide for all K through 12 grade levels and need our school community to crowd source the information! Hard to think about now in the midst of ice and snow, but those summer camps, high school internships, and STEM clubs fill up quickly. So, lets pull together and get the best of the best up on our PTO website for all to use this year. Thanks!

Once again, the PTO Leadership Team wishes all Mystic Valley families a safe and joyous winter break! See you all in 2020!
